Behind ObsidianFire Maine Coons
ObsidianFire is owned and operated by Teresa and her husband Xeko. Teresa has been involved in breeding and showing animals since she was a baby. Her mom used to show and breed ChowChows and her great love of animals was evident at a very early age. She has well over 25 years of experience in training, rescue, breeding and showing. Some of her experience includes Lovebirds, Mice, Dobermans, Chihuahuas, Bengals and now Maine Coons.
Teresa is passionate about genetics, reproduction and animal nutrition and has taken multiple courses on those subjects while she was studying to become a Veterinarian. While she was in school, her mother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and she made the decision to leave and pursue a career as a pastry artist to spend more time with her.
In her free time, Teresa can often be found creating realistic animal portraits In different mediums including acrylic paints, pencils, as well as edible mediums including, cupcakes and cookies! Some of her work has even been featured on the news!
Xeko is a talented musician and can often be found playing the keyboard or guitar to the kittens. An avid cat lover, he and Vlad are inseparable and he loves to spoil and snuggle the babies before they leave.
